The Surgeonaires are the latest signing to Black Cat Records.
Tigger Lyons, Hustler's bassist and Producer of Hustler’s third album, ‘Reloaded’, has teamed up with fellow 'Brain Surgeon' Brian Dear (singer/songwriter/guitarist/frontman) and rock drummer John Barrett.
The Surgeonaires are three experienced musicians, who've been performing their own style of Hard Rock in West London Pubs and Clubs for the past year and are now poised to play to bigger venues. The band's unique style of music was born in London's Punk Rock scene in the late 70s and reflects the eclectic journey of the personal experiences and musical influences of Tigger and Brian over the past 40 years or so.
Brian and Tigger formed 'The Brain Surgeons' shortly after Hustler broke up in 1976. The Brain Surgeons disbanded in 1978 when Tigger and drummer Mark Evans accepted an offer to work in Los Angeles.
By chance, Brian and Tigger were brought together for an unrehearsed live performance at the General Eliott (Tigger’s Local Pub) in January 2023 and the special relationship was reignited. All they needed was a tight rock drummer to complete the line up so Tigg contacted his old friend, Johnny B and The Surgeonaires were born.
In February 2024 they released a 3 Track EP - A Delicate Operation and are currently working on their first Album in between performing live.

Influences: Van Morrison, The Who, Cream, Bruce Springsteen, The Stranglers and Wilko Johnson.
The amazing Surgeonaires are:
Brian 'Doc' Dear - Guitar/Vocals
Tigger Lyons - Bass/Vocals
John Barrett - Drums/Vocals

Releases to date have been:

Save Me (Single)
Delicate Operation (EP)
Yet another distinctly ‘Surgeonaires’ release, available on all major internet platforms. A driving, yet catchy composition with a highly charged performance from this tight three piece.
‘SAVE ME’ is a cry for help, reflecting current times, the dilemmas that modern Brits face and a recognition that times must change.

Get Out (EP)
2nd September 2024

This EP comprises three tracks that showcase the diverse writing abilities of Brian and Tigger:
When The Bullets Fly (Dear/Lyons) - The song depicts the horrors of war and violence and the attempted denial of responsibility by those who could stop it. Brian has expressed on stage his fantasy of melting down all guns and converting them into guitars.
The band hope that one day our world leaders will see the light.
Runaway (Dear/Lyons) - The story of a young woman who leaves home and discovers the difficulties of survival and relationships in the big world. The narrative is from the perspective of her boyfriend who wants to deny her the freedom she craves.
Get Out Of My House (Lyons) - Originally released by Hustler on the A&M Label (Get Outta Me ‘Ouse) written by Tigger Lyons in 1974, sung back then by Micky Llewellyn and featured on their Hustler ‘High Street’ album.
The Surgeonaires have produced their own updated arrangement as a welcome addition to the live set.

A delicate OIperation
9trh February 2024

The SURGEONAIRES came together as a homage to 70’s punk band ‘The Brain Surgeons’ and this three-track EP is their first offering.
Founder members of the Brain Surgeons, Brian, Tigger and MickieP decided to record three great archived songs that were never released.
The discovery of a demo recording session from 1978 was the inspiration to complete and master the recordings.
‘Love Lies Dead’ and ‘Me & My Guitar’ are from that recording session and Delicate Operation is a brand-new recording as a taster of what is to come.
THE BRAIN SURGEONS WERE:
Brian Dear - Vocals & Guitar
Tigger Lyons - Bass & Vocals
MickieP - Guitar & Vocals
Mark Evans - Drums
Keeping the Brain Surgeons music alive are THE SURGEONAIRES: Brian Dear, Tigger Lyons joined by John Barratt on drums and vocals.
This three-piece band has been raising the roofs of West London pubs and clubs for the past year,
hungry to perform and entertaining music fans with their hard-hitting original material.
